MPhil
It’s a postgraduate research-based programme typically completed in two full time years and combines regular coursework and end of study around 40,000 word thesis. It is common for a PhD candidates in UK universities to be enrolled for an MPhil programme and afterwich they will be permitted to continue their research leading to a PhD degree (usually between one and two years).
Eligibility Criteria
Admission to M.Phil. Programs is open to a student who;
- holds at least a second class Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with 55% or more marks.
- has passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination with at least 50% marks
OR
Passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination and Intermediate Examination with second division separately in each examination but with an aggregate of 55% marks in Bachelor’s Degree Examination.
Important Note
- Candidates who are Teacher Fellowship Holders/ direct awardees of fellowship by DST (INSPIRE), ICMR or any other National Agency are also exempted from the entrance test.
- If M.Phil. student wants to take admission to Ph.D. program after passing M.Phil examination. He / she will be exempted from Entrance Test but will have to appear for the Interview.
